Slivers-of-Time: standing out for being innovative

Fresh from Innovation Exchange’s Festival of Ideas: Beyond Worklessness event in Cambridge. Slivers-of-Time, one of Innovation Exchange’s Next Practice projects is making the news. Hailed by the Guardian as one of the best ways to make money in a hour, Slivers-of-Time (a government funded service) lets workers pick up work by the hour.

Slivers -of-Time is an online system that enables people to contract directly with one another to provide services. Having begun in the area of worklessness, with the help of Innovation Exchange, Slivers-of -Time has has applied their model to the social care sector, where it is proving to be invaluable for holders of personal budgets.
