As Senior Director of Trends and Strategy for  Philips (from 1997-2009), Josephine Green introduced a radical new way of looking at management structures, arguing that we were shifting from a ‘pyramid’ world (defined by hierarchical relationships) to a ‘pancake’ one (defined by lateral connections). She discusses this concept in detail in the interview above.

Since going independent, Josephine has become increasingly engaged in the issues facing 21st century education, and she will bring a unique, design-led perspective to IIE2010.

You can read Josephine’s article ‘From Pyramids to Pancakes’ .

You can download her pamphlet, Democratizing the Future.

Conference information: A special early bird discount of 20% is available until 30 September 2010. Please quote code IU when booking. For more information and to book your place please visit guardian.co.uk/innovation-education.
