So, thanks to the lovely people at innocent we’ve been enjoying some yummy veg pots in the office recently. We were also delighted to find that they had a pop-up cafe just round the corner from the office. So Kathryn and I, being intrepid food explorers, decided to go down and investigate just how easy it could be to get our 5 a day.

It was a fantastic experience. Big long trestle tables in an echoy old building (reminds us of being at school) with a salad wall and loads of yummy smells (not at all like being at school). The menu changes every day so Kathryn and I were able to tuck into a great vegetable curry with haloumi cheese, followed by fruit compote and meringue. Not your usual 9-5 lunch but super tasty. And we got our 5 a day, with just those two dishes (I also had a smoothie – does that mean I got 7 of my 5 a day?!). Then at the end we left our thumbprints and got some snazzy recipe cards so we could try everything out at home – particularly excited about poached pears with quince ice cream. We just think it’s a shame it’s not there on a permanent basis as we’d be down there all the time! 5 a day for £5 is too good to miss. Thanks, clever innocent folks for showing us how easy and delicious it can be getting all your fruit and vegetables in!
