Last week, I attended the Communities and Climate Action Conference 2011 and heard Stephen Joseph from the Campaign for Better Transport talking about the state of sustainable trasport in the UK. His presentation was really good so I thought I’d share it.

Also, if you haven’t heard about Campaign for Better Transport’s Fair Fares Now campaign – then you really should check it out here.

I’m definitely putting my name down to fair fares now!! It seems insane that you can often fly to Berlin more cheaply than I can catch a train to Birmingham!

Another point that I didn’t see here is making trains bike-friendly. In copenhagen they’ve even got trains with bicycle pumps available! http://www.copenhagenize.com/2010/12/bicycle-pumps-on-copenhagen-trains.html
